About our Institute
The Institute of Sensory Ecology focuses on the study of mimicry systems, particularly eyespots or ocelli in lepidopterans and galliform birds, pollen sensing of pollen eating and pollen collecting insects, pollen-and stamen-mimicry of flowering plants and colour preferences of birds bees and hoverflies (
Lunau Group) as well as signal-mediated interactions between flowers and flower-visitors including pollinators and antagonists (
Junker Group).
